Spectacularly tasty food featuring first rate service and ambiance
Rarely do we rave about a restaurant at the 5-star level. But this one deserves it.
Not only is it a 5-star restaurant for its' locale, but in our experience, this restaurant would be considered a 5-star dining experience just about anywhere. And that's not because it's a fancy, Waldorf Astoria-like dining experience. It's because the food is village fresh from local gardens and this island, tastefully and thoughtfully prepared, featuring wonderful service. The breathtaking, iconic setting on the clifftops of Glossa add to the charm.
We ordered a village special for an appetizer: Xortokefedes (Herb Fritters). They were scrumptious. They are a combination of wild savory herbs and aromatics mixed with greens and fish roe. Words do not do justice to this offering. 6.8 Euro's.

For desserts, Lemon Sherbet, Pistachio ice cream — home made from island Pistachios and, Almond cake and cinnamon ice cream — all delicious. Yes, we really couldn't resist trying three desserts!

RoverTreks — Agnanti-Vanilla Ice Cream with brownieTravelers note: If you visit Skopelos, keep this eating-out tip in mind. The prices for dining out on Skopelos are fairly uniform across the island. For example, a farmers salad (known as the xoriatiki salad (from the Greek word Xorio meaning village)) generally costs between 6-7.50 Euros island wide. Hotel restaurants charge more than standalone restaurants, in keeping with what we see worldwide. A typical bill for dinner on the island — say two drinks, an appetizer, salad, an entree and a desert, will hover around 30-32 Euro's. With two entrees, 40 Euro's.
BUT, quality DOES vary around the island. After sampling a number of restaurants, we now have favorites that we will return to again and again because the price-performance ratio is the best for us. This is why we recommend you find a place you like and continue to return to it. It makes no sense to eat food you don't like but pay the same amount for elsewhere.
How to get there
Hop off the Hellenic Seaways ferry at the port of Loutraki, and you can’t help but snag a view of the sunbaked, whitewashed homes clinging to the steep granite cliffs of Glossa (population 1,195) looming high above, presenting the best views from the island. And unlike the drab brown of Greece elsewhere, the blue-green-white contrast of Skopelos jumps out at you from here.
It's above and at the top, Glossa sits. Walk from the church near the 90° turn in the road in town toward the village center. Agnanti is located on the left not far on the way to the village center.
